|One day token strike - Demanding Pay Revision|
|7-8 August 1985||Strike – KSR part I Rule 60 was invoked and Com. C.J.Joseph was terminated from service at the age of 53, vide G.O. (Ms) No. 6010/85/GAD dated 09.08.1985. He was reinstated in service by the LDF Government headed by Com. E.K. Nayanar.|
|1 December 1992||Unrest in Finance Department – Steps were initiated by UDF Government to derecognize the Kerala Secretariat Employees Association. Workers and leaders including the President were put under suspension. The issue ended in serving a severe warning to the association vide G.O. (Rt) No. 6123/92/GAD dated 20.07.1992.|
|10 January 2001||
All India Strike by State and Central Government Employees. A scuffle broke out among the employees in Government Secretariat. Cases were registered against the employees who participated in the strike. In one of the cases the Magistrate Court convicted 7 comrades. The UDF Government, waiting for an opportunity to weaken the Association dismissed the following comrades on the plea of the order of the court vide G.O. (Ms) No. 76/06/GAD dated 17.02.2006 and G.O. (Ms) No. 92/06/GAD dated 04.03.2006.
|The LDF Government reinstated them in service in 2006. Later the District Court set aside the conviction. Also the petition challenging the reinstatement was dismissed by the Honorable High Court|
|10 January 2002 & 6th February 2002 to 9th March 2002||
The high level UDF committee which met at Kovalam on 8th January 2002 decided to stop all the financial benefits enjoyed by Government Employees in the State including surrender of Earned Leave. Protesting against this decision Kerala Secretariat Employees Association workers assembled in the portico of the North Block of Government Secretariat. There was a strike on 10th January 2002 all over the Sate. But the UDF Government headed by Sri. A.K. Antony took away the financial benefits enjoyed by State Government Employees vide G.O. (Rt) No. 56/2002/Fin dated 16.01.2002. There was a 32 day long strike by State Government Employees in the State from 6th February 2002 to 9th March 2002. Government Secretariat was paralysed, several employees were suspended, the black law ESMA - Kerala Essential Services Maintenance Act - was enforced.
